I detest the elf-on-a-shelf nonsense. I did cave in and get one when my daughter was young, but I quickly abandoned the ritual, and that dreadful little critter has lain at the bottom of a box of decorations since. Some part of me is too superstitious to toss it out. Maybe next year I’ll set it free in the wild and make it somebody else’s problem. 😆
Well, only one more night of their elfscapades Meaghan. We have three, Eric, Esmerelda and Flashy Thomas McSleighbells. The dog half ate flashy last year and I was hoping after 9 years that they wouldn’t return this year, but, horror or horrors, they did…. Next year, they are banned. I’m sure that 12 and 15 year olds don’t need elf visitations… they mysteriously moved in the morning the other day - Thomas swore they were in the same place when he got up, and then they magically found their way to another location… very strange. Today, one of them is riding a frog, another is riding a gecko and Flashy is riding a crab…!
