I love reading your newsletters! They’re inspiring and fun and soo informative. I’m currently sitting outside at my picnic table, sipping coffee, while the morning sun is shining on my back. What better way to start a week! 😀
The great thing about social media today is there is no time line. It sounds like you are REALLY busy!!! I know what you mean about shading. I try with shading though...I can't help it. It always looks awful or it does to me. For example: I'm working on painting my studio walls and have painted flowers on my walls with peace signs in the middle but the shading is ALL WRONG! I have no idea how to fix it. I would LOVE to join you for lives but sadly my phone and computer will not let me add apps or anything. Including updates....etc. it's rather frustrating but I've gotten used to it and just ignore it. I've taken snapshots and tried to get help with certain issues for years. Only SOME take that seriously, so I get the help that I can get and ignore the rest. I do hope that it goes great for you though and when I do get this issue fixed I hope to join you for lives. I have a REALLY good idea that I'd LOVE to go over with you. Again though, that will only be after I get all this mess fixed. It's very cool but I can also see exactly what you meant by things NOT having to look perfect. I sing you see or I did because I was in the Church Choir years ago. I was in theatre as well. You'd think that singing were absolutely different than visual arts and in some respects I suppose it is but in others they are so alike. One way that they are alike is shown in the video that I'll post today. You can find it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzGTniArm_c I've had SOO many technical issues that I can't get in contact with those in my personal life easily. I suppose it would be easier if I were able to drive or were paid for what I do so that I could pay a driver. I don't have either though so I am singing without backup and without anysort of help from those who I have asked for advice from in the past. The only person who I could ask for help from is my father because he was choir director and I see him offline at least once a week. He's also retired though plus, I never felt as if he really liked working with me. Anyway, your having posted about things not having to be perfect reminded me of that video. That video is AWFUL music wise! I'm not used to singing songs like that without back-up. At least not those types of songs. It was SOOO HARD for me to post!!! Back on mermaids though. I haven't watched the live Little Mermaid either. I loved the 1989 version of it. I actually know that by heart. My memory is odd, what can I say? I suppose I should watch the new one but although I'm NOT paid for it I'm a huge workaholic. For example: I put that new video together myself. Which is ALOT of work for one person. Anyway, great post. Please try not to be so hard on yourself. I bet to be a mother takes ALOT of work. I can relate because in that respect it's a bit like being a workaholic like me. Either way, it's ironic because it's kinda like a mermaid swimming through the ocean. The mermaid probably never truly knows how the water will react and if it will go wild or not. A mother never knows how children will react and if they will go wild while growing up in this strange world and having to deal with so much! Wouldn't it be cool if you drew a mermaid and named er Meaghan? Meghan the mother of all mermaids. :) I think that would be awsome! *GRINS*
You're absolutely welcome! As for the 1989 Little Mermaid it is a classic but I never thought of it that way!!! Still, I couldn't agree more! I used to watch it all the time growing up! Thinking of how old it is makes me feel old. LOLOL
I didnt like the live action version. But to be honest, I dont like any of the live action Disney is making. All the magic in the animation is just gone 😕
I know what you mean, I didn't love the live action beauty and the beast of lion king. But I've heard good things about the little mermaid and I am very curious about how they pull off the under water scenes

Love this Meaghan! I particularly love the mama mermaid 💛 I am in awe of your mermay, I drew a mermaid last May… just the one 🤩
haha one is probably the more healthy approach. Thanks so much, Emily!
I’m very excited for the graphic novel, too!

I can say. Avatar's under water scenes are waaaay better. In Mermaid it seemed too dark. But this is my opinion. You might think the opposite 😊
I can't wait to draw many mermaids with everyone😊
Your doodles are the best by the way!
Yay! See you Thursday!
And thank you so much!
