Thanks for reminding me about Stardust! It's been on my TBR list and my literal shelf for a while and I haven't made it to it yet. If you're looking for a great fantasy series with a sparky third person narrator, I can't recommend the Magicians Trilogy enough.
Sounds great! Let me know what you think if you happen to give it a read. It's one of my absolute favourites. I've read the trilogy through twice and I plan on going through it again 😂
The local library had a book sale, and since I didn't get enough from there, I went to the indie bookstore downtown afterwards. My take includes:
-Diamond Age (Stevenson)
-Gallant (V.E. Schwab)
-The Light Fantastic (Pratchett)
-Delta-V (Daniel Suarez)
-The Caves of Steel (Asimov)
-A pile of Sunset books to keep my house from falling down or blowing up
-Suspiria (Dario Argento, DVD)
-Camp Damascus (Chuck Tingle)
-Legends and Lattes (Travis Baldree)
-The Parable of the Talents (Butler)
Of course, while I was at the library, I checked some books out, and those are the ones I've actually been reading.
-The Stars are Legion (Kameron Hurley)
-You Sexy Thing (Cat Rambo)
-The Birthgrave (Tanith Lee)
I've settled on two vintage glass nib pens that look like they were made from drinking straws. Ink from the downtown art store: Platinum sepia black, Noodlers green, manga black (that was a mistake, and could have been a lot bigger mess than it was).
Reading with your little boy sounds absolutely sweet. That was how I learned to read, from my mom. My husband liked hockey.
Oh my gosh, this is an AMAZING haul. So many great writers! I love terry pratchett and really enjoyed stars are legion! Platinum sepia black sounds like exactly my kind of ink. 🤩
I don't fully know what the problem was but I suspect it was because they act out child birth (which was done hilariously) but might have been too much for disney's brand?
Stardust is great. I seem to recall the film being decent, as well.
Have you seen the versions of the awful Apple ad played in reverse? I think they'd have saved themselves a lot of hassle if they'd released that version instead. But yes, definitely a case of them saying the quiet part out loud by mistake.

Thank you! Lev Grossman?
Exactly!
Nice, I will add it to my TBR! Thanks!

That's a glowing recommendation! Will definitely check it out

So if you kids liked the banned episode. What was the bad about in the first place? 🤔

There is a wonderful and hilarious muppets sketch where a momma rabbit is giving birth
I wont spoil it!
I miss the days when they were showing Darkwing. No kid got hurt back then.
I loved your list. It's a little like a peek into the brain of someone I admire. YOU!
So thank you for releasing it to the wider world. I look forward to the next one.
Aw this is so kind! Thank you! I hope you find something for your own lists on here!
Thanks for the mention!

The movie is so wonderful! I love it so much, especially Michelle Pfeifer!
I did see the reverse. So much better and such a simple fix.
Hey, thanks Meaghan! I’m honored to make the list 💪❤️
Thank YOU for the awesome posts!
What was Dad Baby about that they’d reject it?
Bandit pretends he's pregnant with Bingo.
as to why they'd reject it, I dunno!
This sounds hilarious!
It is!
