IIIIIIIIt's December! The holidays are in full swing at my house - the tree is up, the eggnog and peppermint hot chocolate have been purchased. The warm glow of lights on trees in my office brings me a whole lot of joy and comfort in what's felt like a really exhausting time. I meant to get this out to you sooner but it my son’s first birthday (yay!) was today and I am only now sitting down (he loved the cake, in case you were wondering). ANYWAY, it’s time for the holidays I'm excited to curl up with blankets and warm drinks and soak up all the sounds, smells and sights of my home at holiday time.
Don't get me wrong - the holidays are chaos. First the baby birthday. The we wrap on that only to handle the endless lists of things to buy from presents to food to mitts that the kids are CONSTANTLY LOSING. Infinite phone calls negotiating with the family of who's going where and when at what time - not to mention the work-related parties. It's a lot. BUT for the brief period between now to……mmm, let’s say December 4th? 5th?…it’s that blissful time when yes, we see the impending holiday madness coming but it's just far enough away that we feel ready to handle it before it hits, and embrace the cozy comfort and nostalgia before all *waves hand* all that catches up.
So on that note, grab a warm drink and cozy seat. I've got a list of treats for you to add to your holiday wishlist or pick up for any art lover/writer on your gift list!
