A long time ago, I was asked to guest post for my friends at Share Your Canvas about how I draw expressions. I’m sharing the post here, and adding a bit of a step by step illustration to show you how I use smiley faces to map a facial expression. If you can draw it in a smiley face, you can map out any facial expression you want!
It's no secret to my art friends - I am all about expressions. I love trying to convey emotion in the faces of my characters. It's the most fun part of a drawing for me.
