A Mermaid Comic in Progress

Shello! I hope you are having a fintastic mermay so far. (There is nothing I love so much as a mermaid pun).

Mine is busy busy busy but I have managed to fit in time to work away on getting the first pages of the Beckon story done. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Beckon is the story I shared last week, the one I’ve been collecting bits and pieces for over the last few years.

And I’ve finally started drawing it!

And today, I wanted to share the pages I’ve done with more pages to come!

That probably took you three seconds to read - but its taken me days and days! haha Such is the terrible work of crafting comics. I hope you enjoyed the opening pages!

What I’m Reading

Severance by Ling Ma - Billed as an ‘offbeat, wryly funny apocalyptic satire,’ Severence follows an office-drone millennial facing the end of the world. Can’t remember how I found this recommendation but I checked out the first chapter and really dug the humour and sharp writing style. The millennial references are also bringing me joy. Loving it so far.
