I hope you’ve been enjoying summer sun, or, if it’s not summer where you are, you’re enjoying that season too!
Me? I’m looking to fall, prepping for September. My work projects yes, but there’s also this wee newsletter that’s become more of a thing for me in the last year, a thing I didn’t expect to find so many readers, a thing I really enjoy doing and want to keep putting out my best work for. And to keep putting out my best work, that means I have to plan. So that’s what I’ve been doing.
Over the past year I’ve been expanding what I do, what I offer on Authorstrator and trying a lot of new things. Some work, some don’t - and by work, I mean readers respond in the comments and send messages and signal that they’ve enjoyed it. By don’t, I mean I hear crickets haha And crickets are ok! It all helps me make the plans on what to do next.
But what would really help, I figure, is instead of trying to glean from numbers and comments, is just ask directly! So that’s what we’re doing for this month’s newsletter. I’m asking you to help me plan what’s coming on Authorstrator! We’re deep-diving into my workshop, your NDA is in the mail (I’m kidding, but, for real, we’re sifting through the notebooks on my desk, shhh).
I had such a great response to my mini comic, Pond Scum: A Mermaid Tail, and it was a really fun project to work on - it definitely pushed me as an artist and was a great exercise in storyboarding. So I definitely want to do more of that and I am thinking that this fall, I’d like to create a new mini comic Halloween story - but I need your help deciding what to do!
